Woo-Hoo Bananas Foster Delight

Okay, we’ve gotta talk… you must try this.

I know, I know, this isn’t helping us prepare for the upcoming swimsuit season, but what can I say? Jeff and I had a sweet tooth one night and we came up with this combination. This was just too good to pass up.

Churro & Bananas Foster Ice Cream Delight
For Each Serving:
2 Scoops of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
2 Spoonfuls of Bananas Foster Topping over the top (Recipe Below)
I found the topping in Sparkle and Stir's Bananas Foster Cake Recipe (I must thank Mrs S & S for posting this!)
    • 2 medium bananas, sliced into small rounds (not too thin)
    • 1/2-cup brown sugar
    • 5 tablespoons butter
    • Melt Butter. Add brown sugar.  Stir and heat until bubbly.  Add bananas. Stir for about 1 minute, until the bananas are warm and covered but not falling apart.
  • This should make 4 servings.

I hope you like it!

Makin' Me Beg - Chocolate Fudge Brownies

When Only a Fudgy Brownie Will Do…

OMG, have I got a recipe for you.

Last year, I received the Classic Artisan Baking book as gift. The brownie recipe alone stopped me in my tracks. Once I locked eyes with the image, it was immediately tagged with a double dog-eared page.

Yes, you heard me right, a double dog-eared page - that's some serious stuff!

So, if you are looking for a really good Chocolate Fudge Brownie Recipe look no further. This is just a hint of what this baking book is all about - homemade deliciousness.

"Sweet Tooth"

The song included above, by Paul Pigat is what came to mind the minute I tasted this tasty bomb of chocolate insanity.
“Why, I used to be slight of frame but now I’m not. That all changed when I had a taste of what you got. I’m smitten. I’m in love. You’re the only one I’m thinking of…I got a sweet tooth and a hollow leg, come on baby don’t ya make me beg…”

Try this out, you will not be disappointed. Happy Sunday All!

Dancing in the Kitchen with Eclair Cake and Alabama Shakes

What could possibly be better than an all day love affair with music, pastry, custard and chocolate? Not much, I can tell ya that!

Grab your apron and put on your dancing shoes, because have I got a combo for you.

Directing the Stage of Chocolate Sauce
It really all begins with letting go and engaging in the moment. It’s an amazing experience to let everything go, disconnect and get lost in the kitchen – especially when the sounds of Alabama Shakes are piped through the speakers.

And then of course, there’s the dancing that occurs in your favorite apron while directing the stage of chocolate sauce with a wooden spoon!

Bury Your Face In It Eclair Cake
This brings me to a discovery that I must share here. It is an absolutely amazing recipe that I found on Pinterest (I heart you red swirly P). It is an Eclair Cake. Yes, you heard me...and it is just as naughty as it sounds.

I got the recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything Blog - Click Here for Recipe. The only tweak that I make is that I make my own homemade vanilla pudding, whipped cream and chocolate sauce...AMaaaaazing!

If this is your first time trying it, I recommend you take a slice and eat it in private so you don't embarrass yourself. Trust me, once you bite into this, one of two things will happen -

  1. You will want to bury your face in it
  2. You will want to bathe in it
Aside from that important piece of advice, you are on your own.

Dancing in the Kitchen With Alabama Shakes...Meow!
So I will leave you with some music. Simply put, this is a must have - Get the Boys and Girls Album, you will not be disappointed.

Seriously, I actually meowed at one point. There's a toughness, yearning and achiness to Brittany's voice that will captivate your soul. Couple that with a team of amazing musicians and you have one heck of an album.

They were soooo good on Saturday night live a couple of weeks ago - If you missed it, take a look at this performance!

Life’s canvases…there are so many…let’s play and paint on as many as we can...Let's dance to music and eat dessert!
