Being a foodie and having a blog can be so much fun. In addition to eating, cooking and baking, there are incredible opportunities to celebrate and meet the most amazing people along the way. August was no exception.
I wanted to write this as a thank you to Crumbs, share some inspiration, introduce you to some new acquaintances and provide a sneak preview of some flavors that are coming out soon.
Champaign and Cupcakes - What Could Be Better?
It all started with an invitation to Crumbs Bake Shop’s NASDAQ opening bell celebration.

In Good Company
The table we sat at couldn’t have been any more perfect. There was a fabulous brunch with a wonderful group of people including@Melysa_S from Sex Lies and Bacon, @OfeliaNJ from OfeliaNJ, the owner couple from The New York Cupcake Guide and Nichelle, a founding editor from Cupcakes Take The Cake.

The owners Mia and Jason Bauer, spent time sharing some personal stories. They told us about their experiences as a start-up with a single store over eight years ago and the eight-month road trip seeking investors. Now they have gone public and are ringing the opening bell - who would have thought? It was an inspirational success story about two people who combined their talent, worked hard and followed their passions.
After brunch our table was invited to sample some cupcakes that aren’t even out in market yet. It was as if I had died and gone to cupcake heaven. Here is a sneak preview of three new flavors that will be coming out soon,
- Cake Batter – A vanilla cupcake, with a yellow cream cheese filling, yellow cream cheese frosting, topped with chunks of rich poundcake and sprinkled with rainbow sprinkles
- Mudslide – A chocolate cupcake, with a chocolate buttercream filling, coffee cream cheese frosting, edged in mini milk chocolate chips and topped with crushed Oreo pieces…hello satan
- Monkey Business – A chocolate cupcake, with a peanut butter cream cheese filling, and a banana cream cheese frosting, edged in mini peanut butter chips and drizzled with melted milk chocolate...hello again

| Brave fella … watch that finger… mama’s hungry |
And, if that weren't enough, we were all sent home with goodie bags and "taste packs" that included 6 large cupcakes and 12 minis. A few days later the hurricane hit so I couldn't give anything away...Jeff and I were stuck in our apartment with everything (sorry, the gorging pictures have mysteriously disappeared).
Congratulations Mia and Jason for following your dreams and working so hard to get there…

And thank you for inviting me to share in your special day!
Love, Butter
PS I don't work for Crumbs, I just love their cupcakes!

Oh Lynda,
ReplyDeleteI wore a smile reading your new post - because
1. I'm so just excited that you have a new post. It's like waiting for a new book from my favorite author!
2. Because I LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate, sugar and cake, too. At work I call chocolate "vitamins" so folks feel they need to eat candy!
And 3. Perhaps most importatnly is that Mia and Jason are so inspirational. A dream + a lot of hard work really does = success!
I'm still smiling....
Elaine Patafio
Elaine, Oh my goodness, now I have a smile from ear to ear! Thank you so much for such kind words :) Thanks again for reading and being such a supporter - you are such a good friend.
ReplyDeleteOh my! You know you truly taunt, possibly haunt me, with these cupcakes! I have gone as far as looking up shipping rates to get some here in WI!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day on Nasdaq. And to know that success can be found when we follow our passions.
Stacey @keepyourlidon you are too funny. This will be one of the first stops on your visit for sure. I love Mia and Jason's story and they are really really nice people too. They have an incredible team working there and they are working to keep "a neighborhood bakery" feel to it.
ReplyDeleteStacey @keepyourlidon - It looks like they have locations in Chicago...a little closer to you...take a look http://www.crumbs.com/locations/
