Well, February has been quite fabulous so far. It has been very busy so I haven't posted as much as I would like to lately, but ya know what? It certainly hasn't held me back from baking some great stuff!
Let me start of with the picture above….
Knock My Socks Off Lemon Cake
My socks were knocked right off with The Irish Mother’s post for Lemon Cake. Seriously…I LOVE lemon cake and this recipe is absolutely ridiculous. It was as if Spring had come to blow my windows right open with the delicious taste and smell of citrus. Thanks to her I have added yet another winner to my recipe collection. (Thanks again Irish Mother)
Lovely Sour Cherry Pocket Pies
Yum Yum Yum! I watched these get made at a demonstration last summer at Williams Sonoma and wrote about the whole experience. Pastry Chef Mack shared a fabulous recipe along with his techniques for making the perfect pie. I am soooo happy that I saved some sour cherries for this Valentine's Day treat.
The Healing Powers of A Virtual Cookie Party
During one of the worst snowstorms of the year, @ChefFelisha threw her back out - ouch! So, why not make her feel better by sending her well wishes and hosting a virtual cookie party in her honor?

I brought good ‘ole fashioned oatmeal raisin cookies (taking the recipe right off of the oatmeal container lid), @eek09 tweeted her chocolate butterscotch and white chocolate chip cookies with walnuts. @cheffelisha found the strength to post her cranberry, almond, oatmeal cookies.
What about Janis? Of course, leave it to @janis_tester to bring meat to a cookie party…(Yes, she is a little bit crazy LOL). We were all posting and tweeting pictures of cookies and she tweeted this - click here to see "the meat". What a great group of foodie friends.

Talking about crazy...
Hoo Hoo – There is an Owl in the Kitchen
It get’s a little chilly during the winter months with ‘Lil Walter coming to my kitchen window every few minutes while I am baking. I now have the perfect solution. The other day I opened the mailbox to find a surprise envelope waiting for me from my friend Stacey from Keep Your Lid On. How much fun....now this is a hat! Perfect for a drafty kitchen and a lot of fun for races - I can't wait to run in this one ha-ha.
So here is to February, having fun and to living life on purpose!
